Williamson County has administered more than 72,488 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, as cases continue to rise in the state, according to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services.

That's up 11.28% from the previous week's tally of 65,140 COVID-19 doses administered.

In the latest week, Texas reported 2,624,852 cases of coronavirus, an increase of 1.89% from the week before.

As Texans faced dangerously cold temperatures during the winter storm, health care providers scrambled to save their supply of the vaccine amid power outages and frozen roads.

Texas vaccinations have resumed in many counties after the state's power crisis brought shipping delays, canceled appointments and destroyed more than 900 doses of the vaccine across the Lone Star State.

Gov. Greg Abbott tweeted earlier this week the state would catch up for delays from weather and administer more than 5 million shots before March.

The five counties that have administered the highest number of COVID-19 vaccine doses as of Feb. 25 are El Paso, Tarrant, Bexar, Dallas and Harris.

Here are the latest numbers on COVID-19 vaccinations in Williamson County as of Feb. 25:
