Some park amenities,
outdoor facilities reopen
The Austin Parks and Recreation Department will reopen limited park amenities and outdoor facilities starting Saturday.
Boat docks and launches will be available, as will tennis centers, golf courses, boating, clay shooting, food concessions and the Umlauf Sculpture Garden.
The outdoor facilities will operate under reduced capacity and COVID-19 modified operating procedures specific to each facility, including social distancing, cleaning protocols and temperature checks.

Library receives
$50,000 federal grant
The Austin Public Library will receive a $49,975 federal grant to respond to the coronavirus pandemic.
The library will use the grant funds to provide Chromebooks and 150 hotspots targeting students needing access from home. Increased connectivity will mean that residents will be empowered to access educational, government and medical resources, pursue employment and connect with family. Funds will also support the purchase of plexiglass dividers to be used in the library to enhance safety for those accessing computer stations.
The grant is a part of the $2.6 million Texas received from the Institute for Museum and Library Services as part of a federal relief package.
SAN MARCOS
Bus to, from Austin
resumes Aug. 24
The city of San Marcos and Capital Area Rural Transportation System announced the resumption of the Interurban Express 1517 Gold Bus, with service from Austin to San Marcos, beginning Aug. 24 with a modified schedule.
Riders may purchase interurban daily and monthly passes on the HopThru app. Passes are also available for purchase at Plaza Saltillo, 412 Comal St., Austin, or at the San Marcos Station, 338 S. Guadalupe St. Drivers will not sell tickets.
Seating limitations will be enforced, and face coverings must be correctly worn by passengers.
Ridership and usage will be tracked daily, weekly and monthly to determine whether further adjustments are necessary. The Interurban Express 1517 Route is subject to change at any time.

BUDA
Applications open
for small business loans
The Still Budaful Small Business Loan Program is offering interest-free loans for Buda businesses, including those in the extraterritorial jurisdiction, for up to $10,000.
Applications close Aug. 26.
Funded and administered by the Buda Economic Development Corporation in partnership with the Small Business Task Force, the program releases $100,000 for loans to qualifying businesses.
