Austin police are asking the public for help identifying an aggravated assault suspect who they say attacked a man at a downtown live music venue earlier this month.

The attack took place Feb. 6 just after 3 a.m. at Tellers bar, 607 Trinity St., and pictures of the suspect and his getaway vehicle were caught on video surveillance, Austin police reported Thursday.

According to police, the suspect was outside of Tellers, when he approached the victim, and cut him.

Austin police are asking the public for help identifying an aggravated assault suspect who they say attacked a man at Tellers downtown on Feb. 6, 2021.

The suspect then ran to a black Chevrolet Suburban or Tahoe with faded paint on the hood and roof, got in, and drove away from the scene, police said.

The victim was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center by Austin-Travis County EMS to be treated for injuries not considered life-threatening. The man was later released, police said.

As of Thursday, police said, the suspect in the case remained at large and a motive for the assault was unknown to detectives.

Police described the suspect as a man with an average build, anywhere from 18 to 25 years old, and last seen wearing a blue hoodie with white stripes.

Anyone with more information about the case can call the Crime Stoppers tip line at 512-472-8477, or use the Crime Stoppers app. Tipsters may remain anonymous. Information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
