Williamson County’s daily known coronavirus cases rise by 64 for total of 7,075

Williamson County on Wednesday reported 64 new daily confirmed coronavirus cases, bringing the total to 7,075 known cases.

The total number of known cases includes 98 deaths and 5,689 estimated recoveries as of Wednesday. It also includes 79 people in the hospital. The people in the hospital include 33 in intensive care and 17 on ventilators.

“Of note, hospitalizations, ICU admissions, and ventilator use have all increased sharply in the past week,” a report by the Williamson County and Cities Health District said. “There is still ample capacity and we will continue to monitor the situation.”

The county has 22% of its hospital beds and 22% of its intensive care beds available. It also has 78% of its ventilators available.

Round Rock had the most number of confirmed cases in the county on Wednesday with a total of 2,197, including 2,024 estimated recoveries. Georgetown had the second-highest number of confirmed cases in the county with a total of 1,207, including 1,084 estimated recoveries.

Other Willamson County cities with a population of less than 20,000 had the third most confirmed cases in the county on Wednesday with 843, including 755 estimated recoveries.

Cedar Park had 749 confirmed cases as of Wednesday, including 649 estimated recoveries. Hutto had 481 confirmed cases with 433 estimated recoveries.

Parts of Austin that are in Williamson County had 433 confirmed cases on Wednesday with 371 estimated recoveries. Leander had 361 confirmed cases, including 298 estimated recoveries.
