A slight chance of isolated and scattered storms are possible across Central Texas in the early part of the week as Tropical Storm Barry makes its way north, the National Weather Service said.

Sunday is expected to be partly sunny with a high near 94 and an overnight low around 76 with a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. The heat index values will be as high as 103.

Slight rain chances continue into Monday morning but will clear out in the afternoon, paving the way for a sunny and dry week, forecasters said.

While slightly above normal temperatures are expected, meteorologists said some mixing with the drier conditions will likely keep heat index values below advisory levels, though some areas may reach them for a bit in the afternoon.

The next chance of rain could be early next week, forecasters said.

Here is what the week ahead looks like:

Monday: A 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms with mostly sunny skies with a high near 95 and an overnight low around 77. The heat index could reach values as high as 106.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny with a high near 98 and an overnight low around 76.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny with a high near 97 and an overnight low around 76.

Thursday: Mostly sunny with a high near 97 and an overnight low around 76.

Friday: Mostly sunny with a high near 97 and an overnight low around 75.

Saturday: Sunny with a high near 98.
