Lake Marble Falls was reopened Tuesday to the public, among the last of the Highland Lakes to reopen after last month's flooding rains, the Lower Colorado River Authority said.

Lakes Travis, Inks and Buchanan have already reopened for recreational use.

Lake LBJ, which is in the Hill Country near Marble Falls, will remain closed until at least Friday morning, because of swift water flow and debris, the LCRA said.

The LCRA, which manages the Highland Lakes system, ceased flood control operations last week. Storms on Oct. 15 and 16 had dumped heavy rain in the watersheds feeding the Llano River, which rose to historic levels, triggering a cascade of floodwaters through the chain of Highland Lakes.
