Austin Spurs win big over Rio Grande Valley Vipers

The Austin Spurs bounced back from a nearly 50-point loss Sunday to defeat the Rio Grande Valley Vipers 114-97 at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park Tuesday.

Three members of the Spurs scored 20-plus points to help make Austin 2-2 on the season. The win comes on the heels of a 132-86 loss to the Memphis Hustle on the road over the weekend.

Jaron Blossomgame and Jeff Ledbetter each scored 26 points to tie for the game lead in scoring. Blossomgame went 10 of 17 from the field and hit all six of his free-throw attempts. The Spurs were perfect from the line, hitting all 20 of their free throws. Ledbetter connected on 8 of 15 field goal attempts, including 6 of 11 from 3-point range, to go with eight rebounds and six assists.

Drew Eubanks scored 22 on 8 of 10 shooting for Austin. The Spurs hit 58 percent of their shots while Rio Grande Valley made 41 percent. Eubanks added five blocks and five rebounds.

Julian Washburn recorded a double-double for Austin, scoring 19 points in addition to grabbing 12 rebounds.

Angel Rodriguez led the Vipers with 24 points.

The Spurs took an eight point lead into halftime and held the Vipers to fewer than 20 points in each of the final two periods.
