A Georgetown school bus driver who drives children with special needs is accused of going online to ask a 14-year-old boy to have sex with him, according to an arrest affidavit. Richard Malley, 62, of Georgetown, is charged with online solicitation of a minor, a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

The victim was not a student in the Georgetown School District, police said.

Georgetown police were notified Nov. 11 after the victim’s mother found several messages on his phone over a week’s time from a man later identified as Malley who the boy had met on a website, according to the affidavit. It said Malley asked the boy for sex.

The boy told police he met with Malley twice, including once at a playground, the affidavit said. It said the victim told police that on another occasion they drove around and went walking on a trail.

Malley also asked the boy online how old he was and the boy said he was 16 years old, the affidavit said. It said Malley and the victim made plans to meet up and engage in sexual activity.

Malley was being held in the Williamson County Jail on Monday with bail set at $100,000.
