Austin police have identified a motorcyclist who was killed last week in a crash on a North Austin freeway flyover as 41-year-old Joe H. Ogg.

According to a preliminary police investigation, Ogg was riding a red Harley-Davidson motorcycle on U.S. 290, heading west to the southbound U.S. 183 flyover around 4:35 a.m. on Sept. 11, when he struck a wall while taking the curve.

"Ogg went over the wall, falling into the westbound lanes of 290 below. He was pronounced deceased on scene," police said in a statement Thursday.
