TRAFFIC ALERT: Main lanes of I-35 between Texas 71, Stassney Lane closing tonight

The southbound lanes of Interstate 35 from Texas 71 to Stassney Lane will close Sunday night as crews set beams for the Stassney Lane bridge project.

The project will reconstruct the bridge structures at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, as well as the frontage road bridge over Williamson Creek.

The closure between Texas 71 and Stassney will run from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Stassney Lane intersection will close starting at 8 p.m. The U.S. 290 and Texas 71 flyovers will also close starting at 10 p.m.

The northbound lanes--from Stassney to Texas 71-- will also see lane reductions Sunday. The left lane will close from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. while crews are setting the beam.

Lane reductions will begin at 10 p.m. Traffic will detour to the frontage roads.
