Bevo won’t be the only animal rooting for Texas at a Longhorn baseball game next month.

The Texas baseball team announced Wednesday that it will hold its first "Bark in the Park" event for fans and their furry canine friends April 14 at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.

Guests and their dogs can enjoy dog-themed programming during the baseball game against Kansas State. No word on what exactly “dog-themed programming” means, but all dogs attending the game will receive a special Bark in the Park water bowl and a treat bag.

The event is part of "Made in Austin Weekend," a weekend-long event that will feature the Texas football team's Orange-White Game, live music, specialty food, beverage offerings and other dog-friendly activities.

Dogs attending the event must be registered, vaccinated, healthy, comfortable around other people, on a leash and at least four months old. But if you have more than one dog you want to bring, you’ll need to choose. Adults are only allowed to bring one dog per person.

Bark in the Park guests will only be permitted from between the third-base entry gate and the left-field gate on the concourse — between sections L1-L7. The dogs and their human friends will sit in sections L6 and L7 along the third-base line.

Fans interested in bringing their dog must purchase a $9 general admission ticket for the designated seating sections behind the third-base line, as well as a $12 ticket for the dog. Existing ticket holders will only need to purchase a ticket for their dog. Guests who purchase tickets for their dogs will also need to fill out paperwork, which will be emailed separately.

Tickets will be available for the dogs until April 10 or when capacity is reached. No walk-up guests with dogs will be allowed entry. For more information, go to TexasSports.com.
